Dad's Favorite Strawberry Pie!
This is my Dad's favorite dessert. My family likes to make it for special occasions. Pies are one of my favorite foods to prepare.
Ingredients
Filling:
* ½ cup brown sugar
* 1 cup sugar
* butter
* lemon juice
* all-purpose flour
* 2 cups strawberries
* 2 cups rhubarb
Crust:
* 1 ¼ cup flour
* ½ cup cold butter
* ¼ cup ice water
Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Melt 3 tablespoons of butter and add sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon flour. Stir the mixture for 1 minute, to dissolve the sugars. Add the rhubarb and cook for 4 to 6 minutes. Add the strawberries and continue to saute for 3 minutes
In a separate bowl, combine flour and small pieces of butter until coarse crumbles appear. Slowly add ice water. Gather dough into a loose ball, wrap in plastic, and then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Divide into 2 pieces, form into balls, and flatten into disks (one for bottom and one for top of pie).
Place bottom disk into pie pan and press against sides. Pour filling in and place top disk over. Press the sides of the disk to edge of pan to seal. Cut vents into top of pie.
Bake for 10 minutes, then lower heat to 350 degrees F and continue baking for an additional 50 to 60 minutes; the filling should be bubbling and top crust golden brown. Cool completely before cutting.
Top with homemade whipped cream!

I want to introduce a Chinese trodetional food, "Tang-yuan".tang-yuan dumplings made of sweet rice, rolled into balls and stuffed with either sweet or meat like: red bean, honey, peanut, gengeli.
In Lantern Festival, people like eat Tang-yuan becaue it means you can get sweet and happy life.
The people of ancient China believed that celestial spirits could be seen flying about in the light of the first full moon of the new lunar year.
Traditionally, Chinese parents prepared lanterns for their children to carry on the school day of the new year to symbolize the hope that the children would have bright futures. In modern China, small children carrying lanterns roam the streets on the evening of the festival. Celebration is also marked by eating Tang-yuan, fireworks show, thousands of elaborate lanterns, dragon and lion dances.

I went to READING TERMINAL MARKET I know that place because I often went there buy the ingredients so I know exactly that place. And I went there with Heejung and Jane. However unfortunately there was closed it was very inconvenient. I watched show it is very delicious show. And sandwich is very big so while watched that show I feel nausea but it is very interesting and exciting show. I couldn't get there I recommend another smoothie store. There are many different kinds of smoothies. I recommend banana apple smoothie. It is so delicious.
I went to the reading terminal market at
51 North 12th street. Hee Jung, Seong eun
and I decided to go there because we knew
51 North 12th street. Hee Jung, Seong eun
and I decided to go there because we knew
that place because we went there before.
After I watched the Man vs. Food, I really
wanted to eat the food the man ate especially, the
cheese steak and ice-cream. I watched the show
before. He always eats delicious food wherever he
goes. Every time I see it, it makes me hungry. I like
this show because it is fun to watch.
I enjoyed watching the episode more this time
because the market was closed already when we got there. I think the video shows us more
entertainments than i go to the location. I would recommend this location to go to another
person though. There are a lot of food and people. It would be fun to shop and eat diverse food.
I'll go to this market next time when it opens.
On this Friday, I went to Reading Terminal Market with Heeyoung and Jiyou, We chose Reading Terminal Market because it is close school and I really like to go market. Before I saw this location on Man v.s Food, although I went this place once before, I had no idea which store or food is famous there. After I saw the link, I felt the food in video are so delicious and I really want to try all of them.
When I entered to Reading Terminal Markt, I was so excited because there are a lot of food or food product!! Finally, we found the store which in the link is Dinic's Roast Pork and Beef. We ordered the roast pork sandwich which the video host recommend, but mine is little bit different than Heeyoung and Ziyou's. My roast pork sandwich mixed with spinach but their mixed with broccoli. The sandwich was very good and delicous because it is not oily abd salty. Compare to Chesse steak, I think I like this one more.
After eating, we started to explore this market. I think I am the most excited person this time because I ate and bought a lot of stuff such as chocolate cockies and cake..etc. I still wanted to try more, if I had been so full.
I would recommend Reading Terminal Market to other people because there are a lot of fresh and good food products. I really like there!
I decided to go to Reading Terminal Market because I already knew that this market is very exciting and not too far from my house. I went there with Seongeun and Jimin as always.
When I arrived that place, they were just closing. I think in america, they are closed too early. As a result we couldn't get to inside also, we couldn't eat that sandwiches. That was dinner time so we decided to have dinner at Chili's. Chili's is a restaurant where located near by the market. I heard about this restaurant is not good, but we want to tried it.... The result is yes, we have to believe what other people saying.
However I often go there with Seongeun and Jimin. I go there to buy some fresh foods and to see my uncle because my uncle has a store in there.
When I saw this place on Man vs. Food, I really wondered the taste of that sandwiches. That look so delicious. To me, going to the location in actual is more enjoyable because I enjoy when I exprience by myself.
I would definitely recommend this market. I love going market in other country.
Last friday, I went to Reading Teaminal Market. This my first time went to this kind of market in Philly. I felt excited, because I saw a plenty of different stores in the market. Most stores sell food, the market also has a lot of fast food stores. I was try Dinic's. this store is a kind of sandwich store. it was famous for roast pork and beef sandwich. I ate a speciol pork sandwich with strange vegetable. but, the tast is very yummy. I enjoyed it.
Compared with market in China. this market is more clean and less crowded. so I think you can enjoy market's enviornment a lot. I hope next time I can go here agian.

Tommy Dinic's & others at Reading terminal market
I've visited to there 3 times before. Whenever I go to the Reading Terminal Market, I can eat new food, which is one of the reasons that I like to go there.
Above all, I watched the episode of Man vs. Food on the 2 youtube links which was so funny. Especially, competition of eating a huge cheese sandwich!! I was excited by the host of the TV program about travel because he was a winner of the competition. Anyway, we ate a pork sandwich that added broccoli at Tommy Dinic's as the TV program recommend the food.
It was so special taste. I will often go to the restaurant for eating the food. As well as, we looked around inside of the reading terminal market. There were many interesting food, which were totally diffrent with my country food. Watching the food and products made me feel refreshed at that time. I bought some fruit and vegetable. Reading Terminal Market seem to be so practical!

Halloween party
Last friday, I went to the Halloween party on-campus. this party was start from 8pm to 11pm. It is a kind of dance party. I saw many Uarts students wear different clothes dancing and some students wear strange dressing style in the party. I felt very excited because this my first time join American festival. in the party, I also met a lot of friends.
compared with Chinese party, In America, people like dance and talk to others and college students more easy-going and open-minded, they do not shy, I mean they like talk to new person. so I hope can get more friends in campus and join more this kind of parties. I think it can help me increase my interpersonal skill.
Review of Halloween
I went to the Ruth's Chris steakhouse with Hee jung and Seong eun for Halloween.
On that day, there were a lot of people outside around the Broad Street.
We watched funny people a lot and we decided to go the restaurant for dinner.
I ordered salmon, but couldn't finish the dishes because of appetizers.
Seong eun and Hee jung also left almost a half of the dishes.
We were having fun there, and the food were good.
After dinner, we went to the 69th street to go karaoke.
There weren't many people than before because of Halloween i thought.
We like playing there for about two hours.
I was exhausted, but it was so fun!
In contrast to the last Halloween, i didn't buy any candy in this time.
Last year when i wasn't living in city, i gave candy for children.
Anyway, I had a great time with friends for Halloween.

Enjoyed Halloween !
I went to my friend house on halloween day with my friend.
we had a small party we are delicious korean foods and drink beers. I really enjoyed the time, because I have to study and practice everyday. so I needed to my time instead of studying time. we cooked
korean foods, expecially that is called samgyeobsal, the food is a kind of meat. we just talked and, played game at that time, but we didn't wear any special clothes.
in korea we have some holidays. people wear traditional clothes which is called hanbok,

Happy Halloween
This year Halloween, my freinds invired me to join a Halloween party at my old languge school and my freinds and I wore our costume to go to bar and nightclub together. I saw a lot of people wore their costume when they walked at street, some people's costume are cool, some people are funny, some are scare, but it was really fun to see many people's costume and experenced this Halloween event. Also I saw some Halloween decoration at my neighbour which are so interesing whole Halloween made me feel fun.
Compare with my culture, we have similar celebrating
event which named Chinese Ghost Festival. I feel our

I went to Ruth's Chris Steak House and 69th street with Seongeun and Jane.
We just enjoyed that the thing we met and spending time together.
After we ate dinner, we went to karaoke on 69th
street. Going there with them is always exciting.
I coppied a Korean singer, Sandara Park's hair. Her hair is very unique. we called that 'palm tree hair' because it looks just like that.
Some asians recognized who I coppied. And some american took a picture with me.
Everybody commented about my hair. I felt it is little bit bother.
Originally in my country,Korea, there were nothing special things on Halloween, but these days, some young people have a party themselves.
To me, when I was in Korea, Halloween is just my mom's birthday.
I always spend time with my family that day.
It was my first time that I saw what americans are doing on Halloween day in reality.
The result is that the Holloween is really funny and exciting day.
Halloween 2010
I spent good time to experience the Halloween party in Uarts with my husband ,my friend Ziyou, and Inhye. Frankly, I didn't wear the costume of Halloween day and I felt regret it soon. The people to wear the clothes looked to have big fun. There were several diffrent kinds of Juice , snack and Pizza. Because we've already eaten dinner, we drank only juice of blood like blood punch or peach? All of them to be at the party were funny. Although Halloween party in my contry is not common, some Korean people have a halloween party in small clubs or bars. In the future, Korean to enjoy Halloween culture will be getting more increased. Anyway, I and Injib decided to enjoy more next Halloween party than this year. HaHa! ^0^
