I interviewed director of student development & activities, Steve Scaduto on last Thursday. He works at Gershman 313. I could find out information about the department through several questions.

1. He helps for stuents' orientation, activity, registering classes, palning graduation, social program (ex, Students can watch a performance in Art bank once every month or they can paly a performance when they are allowed from this shool. However they need to sign in a paper.)
Especailly, he teaches international students in ELSI.

2.He has been about for 5 years. Actually, he studied English, Business and English Education. However,he told that he likes to interact with artists, visual artists and musicians.

3.There are several ways. He works for studnets' successful school lives through envents, program planing and preparing for graduation.
EX.He hadled a workshop in last spring which was for freash men and second years students. In particualr,he teaches international students, as well as he helps
Latino, African American and Asian to get together.

Anyway, we can get formal information about above contents from video (on Uarts website, students can access the student development& active.)
If you go to the office, you can also get informal information.

4.He said that we have different opinions and backgrounds each other.Thus we feel difficult to interact with others. However, we can ask question about differences and need to comunicate each other.

5.a. The office handle new students' oriantation.

b. It plans program and work shop .

c.It advise to studnets about their organizations.

d. It helps studants' graduations.

e. It provides students with leadership.

6.The office can require other information from differnt parts because it collaborate with other offices on campus(ex. academic department)and the office works more abrod. Therefore, Stuents get differnt kinds of advices from this office. If stuents have some problem, they can go to the office the first.
